2012 Dames for Dogs calendar
Here are some guidlines and tips for your photo.Don't forget about the contract and the $15.00 donation per image to Dames for Dogs.
* Retro-style swimsuits, bikinis and negligees in the photos are fine, as long as they are not sheer (No string bikinis,high-cut suits, or naughty-style lingerie. Many thrift stores sell retro lingerie, or you can search online.
* Please keep your shots PG-friendly; No nips, nothing see-through revealing your naughty bits, no visible thongs, no "crack" or "full moon". :)
* Garters and cleavage are grrreat, Sexy is great, but it must be classy, like you would feel comfortable hanging it up in an office or showing any member of your family.
* "Stripper shoes" are cute as long as they are in a 40s or 50s style (no clear plastic, loud colors, Dollar Signs, etc.) No pointy-toed pumps, bondage-shoes, or stilettos.
* Usually the underthings you need for pinup are: padded or padded inserts, seamed black or nude thigh-highs, garter belt, may include a waist cincher or corset. You may also choose to wear something from Spanx's to "hold it all in."
* If you wear body jewelry (except modest earrings similar to the ones in your image, or wedding bands), it must be removed for your shoot
* There are many places to find retro clothing online, Pinup Girl Clothing, Delicious corsets,
* Ink is great, let it show! :) But if you don't have ink, that is great too!
* Dog wardrobe, including appropriate collar, is your responsibility as well. No tough-looking chains or collars are to be on the dogs in the images. If your dog likes to dress up and it is appropriate to your shot, great! Get creative!
Makeup and Hair:
* Please shoot with clean-shaven or waxed legs and underarms, this helps your photographer have less editing to do later.
* Nails (manicure and pedicure) should be done and in era-appropriate colors: light pinks, reds, natural, or french manicures. No black, blue, etc.
* Hair and makeup must be era-appropriate a If your hair color matches your recreation, great! If not, a pinup style. Please familiarize yourself with classic pinup before your shoot. Note: There are some great youtube videos illustrating "how to" recreate Pinup looks.
Props and Set:
* Please discuss with your Photographer to arrange who will provide what; please consider everything your responsibility unless your photographer says otherwise.
* Lots of studio pinup is shot on paper backgrounds, white or other colors. this is not necessary nature settings are fine too.
